Easter Break At Home

Wednesday, 22 April 2015

After a draining second term at Uni, I went home for two weeks at the end of March and it was exactly what I needed. Alongside working full-time apart from the bank holiday, I managed to sustain a Kim K lifestyle of shopping, eating out and drinking, all while catching up and spending time with my favourite people. It was a bit of a whirlwind, unrealistic two weeks but it was lovely all the same. Sometimes, being able to do exactly what you want is what you need for a short period time and although I was exhausted as soon as I got back to Uni, I'm so glad I was selfish for two weeks. I've got a final push now until May 22nd and while my social life may take a bit of a back seat, I had the perfect Easter break back in Hertfordshire.

It's needless to say that I'm in need of a bit of a detox so I'm going to be eating healthier and getting back into my gym routine, with my motivation being the new bikinis I bought for travelling that I'm determined to squeeze into. I'm swapping wine for vodka (I can't cut alcohol out altogether, I'm at uni!) and pizza and nachos for salads (sometimes). Something which I didn't enjoy as much as I thought I would was eating chocolate again after Lent ended. It makes me feel a bit poorly when I eat it now and I honestly think my body just got used to not having it and is now rejecting it a little. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy it, just not to the extent I did before which is a good thing, I guess. But for the time being, it's work work work and a little less play.
