Bill's Cream Tea: Berkhamsted

Wednesday, 1 April 2015

On Saturday me and my sister treated our lovely mum to her belated Mother's Day present. We originally booked afternoon at tea at Bill's in St Albans, but switched to Berkhamsted last minute as it was closer but it turned out they only served cream tea, not afternoon tea. We were a little gutted there would be no sandwiches (that'll teach me to check next time!) but it was a blessing in disguise as there was so much cake. My dad came along too so we enjoyed a lovely family afternoon over tea, champagne, scones and gorgeous cakes. Bill's has really cute rustic interior and has a real warm, family-friendly feel to it. It was £7.95 per person for tea, scones and cake and £10.95 for champagne, scones and cake which is super reasonable considering the amount you're given. Along with a drink, each person gets two warm scones with jam and clotted cream, a chocolate brownie, a marshmallow square, a strawberry and cream tart and a lemon drizzle cake so you're truly spoilt for choice. It's such a lovely idea if you want a relaxed afternoon with friends or family. We were all equally pleased with the food (and champers!) and it's safe to say we'll be going back again.
