A Year to Look Forward to

Friday, 2 January 2015

Every year we tend to say the previous year was the best but this year, I really do have a whole lot to look forward to. Okay, so January may start off bleak, after a magical Christmas might I add, because of looming exams and deadlines but come the end of January I'll be stepping into proper adulthood and celebrating my 21st birthday. My birthday is on Satuday 31st but on the 30th I'm going to London for a meal followed by Billy Elliot at the theatre with my parents and sister. I haven't had time to get too excited as I've been crazy busy, but I don't remember the last time the four of us spent any quality time together, as life tends to get in the way, so it should be really special. On my actual birthday I'm planning on having some quality family time with food, cake and champers in the day before heading out to celebrate with my girls.

I don't have an awful lot planned for February and March but April is full of 21st birthday's and Easter break. May 22nd is my last ever day at uni which means I'll literally be on the verge of graduating. The thought absolutely terrifies me and I'm really not quite sure how to prepare for myself. June means my last ever Ocean and grad ball which is set to be pretty emotional. And July? I'm going to see Ed Sheeran at Wembley Stadium on the 10th, I've got two of my best friend's 21st birthday celebrations as well as graduation the following week. As much as I'm excited to collect my degree (hopefully), wear the grown and throw my hat up in the air with pure happiness, I'm scared for it to all be over. I'm hoping the summer will be full of friends, sunshine and memories before it reaches September and I jet off on a three month adventure round the world.

We're booking on the 14th so I'll do a much more detailed post then giving you all the deets, but I have a feeling that it's going to be a pretty good year. Entering proper adulthood, graduating from University and flying across the world are pretty big steps to take, but the excitement I feel towards taking them is unexplainable. Having things to look forward to is such a driving force for me, and I'm going to make the most of my freedom and carefree nature before I return in December, with another year under my belt, ready to become a proper fully-fledged adult and try and get a big girl job with my journalism degree (someone please hire me). I'm sure it won't be as plain sailing as I hope, or imagine, but I guess it'll make for more memories, right?

  1. I hope you have a lovely 2015. All the best with University! I know how your feeling right now. But the relief and the celebrating on graduation day is unlike anything else! :) x

    1. Thanks lovely, you too! It's so overwhelming but I can imagine how incredible graduation is. Hope your job is going well xx
