London Christmas Adventure

Wednesday, 24 December 2014

On Saturday I was lucky enough to be taken to London for the evening which was a lovely surprise. I was treated to a beautifully scenic rotation on the London Eye before heading to a nearby German market for some food. Winter Wonderland was next on the agenda and I was amazed at how gorgeous it was. Hyde Park was laden with rustic wooden shacks, twinkly fairy lights and an abundance of festive cheer which made me feel all the more festive. Ice skating was unfortunately all booked up so we enjoyed the smells and the scenery while wandering round with a drink instead which was still undeniably cute. We were going to head into Soho for a few drinks but my feet got the better of me so we headed home. Note to self: never wear new heeled boots into London when you're going to be doing a lot of walking. Spontaneous, thoughtful trips, especially at this time of year, make me feel incredibly happy, lucky and grateful. Living so close to London makes it easy to take it for granted, so I'm going to make a conscious effort to remember just how magical it is as a capital city.
