Christmas: Round Up

Friday, 26 December 2014

How did Christmas come around and pass us once again? It only feels like five minutes ago I was feeling festive in London, excited to spend the day with loved ones and now I'm in a post Christmas anti-climax food coma bubble. We missed my sister this year as she was spending Christmas with her boyfriend but me, my parents and my grandparents still had a lovely day filled with presents, laughter, food, alcohol and games. It's always nice to sit around the TV and the dinner table reminiscing on the good times and exchanging stories. It makes you grateful for the small things in life we usually take for granted, like family. My sister joined us for Christmas round two on Boxing Day where we did exactly the same - ate, drank and laughed until we were in food and alcohol induced comas. Christmas really is one of my favourite times of the year because it's an excuse for everyone to get together, enjoy each other's company and relax - something we all need to do guilt-free sometimes. With the addition of a much-loved selfie stick we were able to get some family snaps to capture some more of the memories we love making together. I'm not much of a fan of the time between Christmas day and New Year's because I feel like it's a bit of an anticlimax waiting for the next year to arrive. Although saying that, I'm struggling to contain my excitement as me and the girls fly to Amsterdam on Wednesday. There's no harm in treating yourself to a mini city break for New Year's with three of your favourite people, is there? All I know is that I'll be ending a fabulous year surrounded by three of my best friends.
