Fun, Family and Food

This year at Uni has been a little different to last year because I haven't been home yet, and I'm not going home until the Christmas holidays. Third year means I've got far more work and far less time to spend doing nothing so my family came up for the day so we could spend some well-deserved and overdue time together. I hadn't seen them for two months so my mum, dad, grandad and my two nan's visited me (and my new cosy flat) which was just what I needed. You take family time for granted when you're constantly surrounded by them and it really made me appreciate them so much more. We shopped (of course) and wandered around the city centre before going to Frankie & Benny's for lunch which was so tasty. I might have bought myself these adorable bunny slippers and spent the night with two of my best friends in a food coma watching X Factor with scones, jam and clotted cream which is one of my absolute fave treats of all time. My nan knows this so she brought me some up because we always used to go for cream tea in the summer which I miss a lot. To top off a lovely weekend I then booked Hunger Games tickets for me, Abby and Georgia, courtesy of my amazing mum as an early Christmas present to us all. What a woman. I won't get to see them all for another month and I've already started counting down the days. I come from a town which I don't particularly like, but it's funny what you can miss when you can't have it. A Christmas with my family and LOTS of food is just what I need.
