YSL Power Pair

Wednesday, 15 October 2014

I'm pretty high street when it comes to makeup but I do like to inject a little bit of luxury when I can afford to. I've always fancied YSL purely because of the incredible packaging. It's sleek, shiny and luxurious and it's one of the prettiest beauty brands in terms of packaging in my opinion. The first time I was the proud owner of a YSL product was back in April when I made the decision to invest in a quality high-end foundation and took the £36 plunge after getting a colour match in Boots. But it's totally okay because of the advantage points, right?

The first time I applied it I literally fell in love. It buffs in like a dream and leaves my skin looking flawlessly dewy. It's durability is seriously impressive and I often receive compliments when wearing it. So it must be good, no? I can't really explain exactly what it is that's so great about it, but it's turned into my holy grail and I certainly don't envisage myself trying any other high-end foundations any time soon so I must be a convert. Oh, and can we just take a moment to appreciate how impeccably beautiful the bottle is? I swoon every time.

I stupdily (or not so stupidly, because I actually LOVE the product) fell into the trap of being persuaded to purchase something else while I was there. The iconic Touche Eclat. And again, the packaging! If an entirely gold shiny pen doesn't impress you, then I don't know what will. This is usually mistaken as a concealer but it's actually a highlighter. I like to swipe it under my brow arch, in a triangle under my eyes, down my nose and in my cupids bow and it leaves a gorgeous, subtle glow. £25 may seem pricey, but it's such a pretty gold pen.

  1. You're right, it is pretty gorgeous packaging! If I wasn't on a spending ban right now, I'd be buying the foundation x
