My Weekend In Picutres

Wednesday, 13 August 2014

I've got one of my best friends from Uni - Abby - staying with me at the moment for four weeks as she's on placement at Stylist magazine in London. This is her second weekend with me and after catching up with the third part of our trio Georgia last weekend, I decided to show her some of the nicer sights of the South, starting with The Waffle House in St Albans. It was lovely and sunny so off we drove to meet Demi. After struggling to find a parking space because it was so packed, we waited for around 15 minutes for a table outside. We all went for waffles with fresh strawberries, vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce which was beyond delicious. It was around £10 for a waffle and a drink which is pretty reasonable considering the generous portion size. We then went for a little stroll through the park and found a sunny spot to sit in for a while before heading back to Hemel where we nipped into town to grab some bits.

It was lovely to catch up with Demi as I haven't seen her in weeks and Abby has met her before so it was nice to all be together. On Saturday evening me and Abby cooked chicken and pasta in a Spanish chicken sauce and watched Tumble and a film with a bottle of wine. Sunday morning was tipping it down but we were absolute trooppers, put on our raincoats and headed out to the field to walk my puppy. We were literally the only people in sight and it felt like hurricane Katrina had returned. It was a very wet and windy walk to say the least. What made the day a lot better was going to my Nan and Grandad's house for a roast dinner which was amazing. My grandparents have never met Abby before so that was nice, and even better with a glass of wine and apple pie and custard. We spent the remainder of the evening lounging around on the sofa being lazy which was the perfect end to an over-indulgent weekend.
