My Face: The Night

Wednesday, 7 May 2014

I recently wrote an everyday makeup post so I thought it was only fair to show you how I change things up when it comes to going out at night. In the day I stick to nine key products but here I've upped the ante and use 15. To start with I dab a bit of the Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser around my nose and chin to blur any imperfections. I have a little white lie to tell because soon after taking these pictures, I invested in a high end foundation which I use for nights out which is the YSL Youth Liberator. If you're after a high end foundtion which gives flawless results then you MUST try this. Lots of beauty bloggers raved about it and for good reason - it might be £37 but it's amazing and definitely worth the money.

Next I use my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer to cancel out any redness or disguise any spots and then fill in my brows with my trusty Benefit Brow Zing and sometimes blend a bit of the Collection Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencil in Vanilla Sky on my brow bone to highlight. I then tend to move on to my eyes and out comes my beloved Urban Decay Naked Palette which I literally can't fault. I'll usually start with Virgin for the base, dab a bit of Sin in the inner corners and then blend Sidecar and Smog. I've been lazy where it comes to fake eyelashes recently so I've been reaching for my Shu Uemura S Curler which is a life saver. If you've got short, flat eyelashes like myself, it really makes a difference.

I'll coat my top lashes in Benefit They're Real! Mascara, bottom lashes in Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara for optimum definition before lining my top lid with Collection Fast Stroke Eye Liner and my waterline with Barry M Bold Waterproof Liner if I really want to draw attention to my eyes. The penultimate step is all about the glow and I use three products for this. I start with Nars Laguna, then add a swipe of Revlon Highlighting Palette in Bronze Glow on top. If I want to balance it out with a slight pinch of colour I'll dab a tiny amount of MAC Powder Blush in Melba on to the apple of my cheeks. The last step of course is the lips and I've been loving the Revlon Colorbust Matte Balm in Standout. It's a gorgeous bright red, is buildable and easy to reapply during the night which is ideal.

How do you change your face from day to night?
