#nottsbloggermeet

Saturday, 1 March 2014

I attended the #nottsbloggermeet today so I thought I'd throw together a little post to tell you what went down. I only actually found out about the meet last night and tweeted one of the girls who was going saying how upset I was that I didn't know about it. She kindly pointed me in the direction of Becka and Sophie who were organising it and luckily there were some spaces left. Yay! Me and one of my best friends Abby spontaneously decided to go and I'm so glad we did as we both had a lovely time.

We met at Zizzi's at 1pm and the tables looked lovely. The girls had organised a goody bag for us all as well as shortbread biscuits in cute little floral boxes. You could tell they'd gone to so much effort and it had certainly paid off. I chose the garlic bread, margarita pizza and chocolate melt from the set menu and had a soda water and lime to wash it down. I rarely go to Zizzi's but the food was lovely and it's safe to say I was close to bursting after I'd eaten. Top top it off the set menu was only £14.95 for three courses which was an absolute bargain. I'll definitely be going again as the atmosphere was very welcoming.

We were sat at the end of one of the tables so didn't get to mingle and talk to everyone which was a bit of a shame but because there were so many of us it was near impossible to get to speak to everyone properly. The girls we were sat next to were LauraCharlotteAmber and Emma Louise and they were all really lovely. It was so nice to chat about blog-related things with like-minded people who shared similar views. It's interesting to find out about other people's blog journeys and we generally had a nice chat over great food. Harlequin Cosmetics did a wonderful little talk during the meet and we learnt about their handmade goodies which was interesting. The citrus shower gel smelt ah-mazing!

Me and Abby did a quick bit of shopping afterwards but I'll do a separate post on that. Just let me say two words - jelly shoes. As soon as I got home I emptied my goody bag and was delighted with the contents. We got so many lovely goodies including Lush, Elemis, Baylis and Harding, Harlequin Cosmetics, imPRESS, skinetica, Nair, Kiss, Oqibo and Deborah and I can't wait to test them all out. The companies involved were so generous and I was not expecting to receive so many gorgeous goodies.

A big thank you to Becka and Sophie for organising everything. You girls did a fantastic job and I'm sure everybody enjoyed the afternoon as much as I did. If we didn't get a chance to meet or chat, please leave your blog links and Twitter handles below as I'd love to read your blogs and hopefully get to know a little bit more about you. This was my first ever meetup and although it was a little daunting at first, everyone I chatted to was super friendly and I'd love to go to more in the future as it's such a great opportunity to meet other bloggers. So if there's a meetup on the horizon and you're a bit nervous, I say go for it!

  1. That was amazingly fast, I have only just got home! It was lovely to meet you today, I'm so glad I went (I was very nervous!). Now I'm just marvelling at how much stuff we got, and trying to stay awake, as I am still sleepy from being so full! x

I live in the Nottingham area as well but I didn't hear about this meet up and anyways I think I would be a bit nervous to go alone! But then again it's such a great opportunity to meet new lovely people :)

    1. I did, thank you :) Aw no, well it was such a late decision for me and my friend as we only found out the night before. I agree, I'd also find it daunting to go alone so if you could take a friend it would make you feel much more comfortable :) If I hear of any more meet ups I'll try and pop them on my blog so keep your eyes peeled X

    1. I think it's great to attend them when you're new to blogging because you can learn so much and meet people during your initial journey. If I'd have known about meet ups when I first started blogging I'd have jumped at the chance (although I would have been super nervous to go on my own) X
