Mini Holiday Haul

Wednesday, 5 March 2014

Did somebody say holiday? I'm jetting off to Lloret De Mar in Spain in just over four weeks with uni as I'm going on the sports tour with Trent Dance. I say jetting, I mean enduring a painful 30 hour coach and ferry hybrid. I last went abroad in 2011 so I needed to get some essentials. To save buying everything in one go the weekend before, I decided to pick a few bits up gradually to try and spread out the cost. I'm not sure if you can class three items as a mini haul but heck, I'm going to anyway.

I always nip into Primark for summer essentials because they're cheap and practical and although they may not last forever, they're ideal for a week away in Spain. I didn't want to spend a lot on fancy gear as I know it's not going to be boiling hot, so cheap and cheerful essentials were calling my name. I spotted this bikini on the rails and picked it up straight away. The mix of vibrant and pastel shades caught my eye and I'm loving the whole tie dye thing. For £4 I couldn't leave the shop without it.

I can't even explain how excited I was when I saw these jelly sandals. If you're a 90s kid then you'll probably appreciate how giddy I got in the shop. There were way too many colours to choose from but in the end I settled for a dark grey with glitter combo. They remind me of my childhood so much that I had to buy them. At only £4 I'm definitely going to buy some more colours. They don't look very groovy with pale pins, hence the gradual tan, but they'll be perfect for throwing on, especially in the sea.

Next up was an inevitable Boots purchase. Don't ask me how I ended up leaving Boots with one item when there was a 3 for 2 offer everywhere I looked. Abby's willpower must have rubbed off on me, but let me tell you, I was very close to caving. This Garnier gradual tan was £5.10 to be exact and I'm hoping it'll do the trick. I want a bit of a sun-kissed glow before I go away and the apricot smell was super inviting. I haven't tried this gradual tan before so I'm looking forward to giving it a trial run.

Are you going on holiday this year? Where do you buy your summer essentials from?
