Maybelline Brow Drama | Dark Brown

Thursday, 30 January 2014

I’m loyal to Benefit Brow Zings but when I saw that Maybelline had released Brow Drama, I was intrigued. All I’d ever seen was a pencil, power or wax type formula for brows, so when this wand application was placed on the shelves I knew I needed to give it a go. I'm sure there's a magnetic force within me that just pulls me towards to new product releases because I just can't seem to stay away.

I was a bit disappointed with the packaging as essentially, it’s a sticker on a brown tube. It looks a little cheap and tacky but I guess it’s all about the product in the tube, right? Wrong. Application is easy, yes, but also messy. I often found myself having to blend any errors in with my fingers as application was never really very straightforward.

I like the concept and it's great if you’re on the go and quickly want to whip the wand across your brows, but beware - it's not an in the taxi kind of job. If you're a clutz like me (my boyfriend will vouch for me) then this product sadly isn't for you. A little blob of product collects at the end of the rounded brush which doesn't exactly work in your favour either.

It doesn't give the full effect I achieve with my Brow Zings, but it’s okay as an alternative if I don't have anything else to fill my brows in with. I was hoping to be a little more impressed with this, but in all honestly I feel a little indifferent. I can’t say I’d repurchase it, but the idea is very practical and if you can apply it neater than me and like a very small hint of colour then this may be for you.

What do you use on your brows?

  2. I wasnt very impressed with this either. I found it ended up making my lashes look crispy sometimes even if I applied it with a light hand. Its a good concept but dont think it was executed very well!
