Day Seven: The Update

Tuesday, 7 January 2014

Hi everyone! I'm going to be away from my blog for a little while so I thought I'd keep you updated and explain why. I don't want you to think I've given up, do I? There's a few reasons for my absence so let me start from the beginning. I've decided that the new year calls for a revamp. I am forever changing little things with my design and am never 100% happy with the way my blog looks. For me, the design is very important as it's the first thing people see and if it looks tired, dull and boring, you might just turn away and not bother reading. I'm so ready to throw myself into blogging this year and really make it my priority, so I'm making a few changes.

Firstly, a lovely lady called Felicity will be giving my little blog a makeover.  I don't have the technical skills or coding ability to achieve my design visions, so I've called in some help. We're in the process of gathering ideas and designs and I'll have some mock ups to look through next week. I'm really excited for the finished product, and I hope you are too. Secondly, I ordered a light box kit to try and get better photos. I'm back at uni now and the lighting in my room is terrible so hopefully a light box will make my life a little easier and create better images for you guys. What's the point of a lovely light box without a shiny new camera? Yep, I'm investing in a new one and I can't bloody wait. A decent camera is an expensive purchase but I'm at the stage where I know I want to be blogging for the forseeable future. I want my blog to reflect my work ethic and passion so I want to make my pictures, content and design as good as they can be.

I thought the best way to do this was to take a little bit of time off and instead of introducing things gradually, come back with everything shiny, new and sparkling. I can't confirm when this will be, but I think around a week should cut it. To wrap things up, this has come at quite a good time as unfortunately I was involved in a car accident on Friday evening so I'm feeling very sore and stiff. Myself, my dad, mum and nan were in the car so we're all just trying to get better asap. As I'm back at uni now I'm going to try and get up to date with all my uni work, take a little time for myself and completely recover. Luckily nobody was badly injured, but because someone crashed into us from the rear, my mum and nan had back pain and as a precaution, they had to be cut out of the car so it was all a little traumatic to say the least. We were very lucky not to sustain more serious injuries so I'm counting my blessings.

Hopefully blog-wise things will only go onwards and upwards from here. Once I'm back with my new blog design in tow, I'll be setting myself some goals. In the meantime, I'm going to be brainstorming new content and features for you. If you've set yourself goals or have a new blog design then please let me know, I'd love to know all the details.
