The Best Of #4: Christmas Gifts - The High Street

Tuesday, 10 December 2013

With Christmas on the horizon I thought I'd turn my 'best of' mini series a little festive this week. I'm doing most of my Christmas shopping this Saturday which is really unusual for me as I'm usually all set by the first week of December. While I've been browsing the shops for ideas I've seen some bits and pieces which are great gift ideas if you're on a budget. Money is tight for most of us and it's the thought that counts at the end of the day, so here are some little stocking filler or gift ideas for friends and family.

Sanctuary Mini Must-Haves 75ml £8.00 - This is a really cute little gift set for those who love relaxing showers and baths. My Nan is a lover of Sanctuary so this would be perfect for female relatives. My dad got this for his secret Santa at work and I'm sure the lady will love it. You get a Spa Skin Body Polisher, a 75ml Foaming Bath Milk, a 75ml Body Wash and a 75ml Body Lotion for £8. The packaging is really girly and cute and I think this would make a lovely gift.

Soap & Glory Glad Hair Day Shampoo 250ml £5.50 - I don't know anyone who doesn't love Soap & Glory products so for me, this is a fail safe option. If you don't want to go for any of the full size products they do mini size versions which are great if you want to mix and match on the 3 for 2 offer. You don't even have to choose 3 S&G products, you can mix between any brands which are included in the offer. I love getting hair care bits and pieces for Christmas and at £5.50 you can't go wrong for a little bit of luxury. It smells amazing and leaves your hair lovely and soft.

Terry's Chocolate Orange 175g £2.75 - Chocolate is a given Christmas gift. Chocolate orange reminds me of Christmas even though it's sold all year round. They're on offer in Tesco at the moment and are buy one get one free which is a bargain, although I'm sure various places sell them for a similar price or have a similar offer on. Christmas is the one time where you don't have to justify eating chocolate for breakfast so you might as well stock up and dish some out this Christmas.

Sanctuary Luxury Foot Polish 75ml £5.50 - Yep, we've gone full circle back to Sanctuary. I for one forget about my feet when I should actually give them a little TLC. Most of the time we're up on our feet for most of the day so we should treat our feet and keep them in tip top condition. My mum is a big fan of foot scrubs and lotions and this would be an ideal present for her. There's also a foot scrub and a foot butter so they'd make a nice little trio if you wanted to opt for the 3 for 2 offer.

The Body Shop Coconut Shower Moisture Set 60ml £6.00 - I love The Body Shop and always end up buying Christmas bits and pieces from there. I bought this as my secret Santa present for a lovely lady at work. I was a bit stuck as to what I should get her but thought something from The Body Shop would be perfect. She's a busy mum of two so hopefully she'll like these dinky travel size luxuries. The Body Shop are currently offering 50% off online and free delivery on orders over £5 with the code 19809, so you can get double for your money.

So there's my guide for the best of high street Christmas gifts. Boots offer an incredible range of products in their infamous 3 for 2 offer which is great if you've got a lot of people to buy for as it can really reduce the cost. I'd also recommend going online to The Body Shop's website for the ladies in your life. What gifts have you bought friends or family members this year?
