Last week it was all about what to wear and I explored jumpsuits on Missguided, which by the way were beautiful. If you haven't seen the post then you can read it here. But what's a gorgeous outfit without a killer clutch to pop your essentials in? This week I have made it my mission to find the best clutch bags from one of my high street favourites - New Look.

So I bet you instantly notice the recurring theme here, huh? Yes I've gone a bit black and gold crazy, but it's Christmas. And what better time than Christmas to wear black and gold together. They're the perfect festive combo and New Look certainly have some great offerings in that department.

First up I've chosen the Black and Gold Cut-Out Box Clutch which is a little on the pricey side at £19.99. It's not a bank breaker but you can certainly get clutches cheaper. Will they be as pretty? Maybe not. I love the gold metal plate triangular detail on this bag as I think it looks edgey. I like the fact it's a box clutch as it gives the clutch structure which makes it very easy to pop in bits and pieces like your phone, lippy and purse.

Can I just point out how amazing the beading is on this bag? Identical in price at £19.99, this Gold Beaded Contrast Abstract Clutch is to die for. It has a zip fastening which is ideal as you can rest easy that all your belongings are safe and secure and won't be falling out. Paired with chunky heels and a plain black dress the bag will do all the talking. The diamond stencil design is eye-catching and definitely something I would spend my money on.

Lastly I have chosen this Black Super Stud Zip Clutch which is a little cheaper at £15.99. It has a handy little wrist loop/handle which makes carrying that little bit easier. Again, the gold and black design works perfectly with the chunky pyramid stud finish of the clutch. New look put it perfectly themselves on their website - minimum effort, maximum style.

I really love all of these clutches and they were my favourite three on the New Look website. Black and gold is definitely the way to go if you want to complete an evening outfit. A clutch bag is an essential accessory for any party girl and it's certainly worth investing in a show-stopper. If you think about how many times you'll use a clutch, you'll definitely get your money's worth.

Which option is your favourite? What do you think of the black and gold colour scheme?

  1. Black and gold is my favourite at the moment!

    1. Mine too, they're such a festive colour combination!X
