PENCIL ME IN

Sunday, 24 November 2013

Hi! I hope you've had a nice weekend - mine has been busy with dance rehearsals for Trent Dance's annual show this evening and revision for my exam in 11 days. In order to stay organised and on top of things, earlier in the week I decided to set things in stone and devise a blog schedule. Let me explain...

I recently started a mini series called 'the best of' - if you don't know what it is then read all about it here. Because it's going to be a regular post, I wanted to post it on the same day each week so those of you who enjoy reading it know when to tune in. This got me thinking about making things a little more permanent and giving my blog a little more structure. Sometimes I feel like I get lost in it all and although I'm posting regularly at the moment, I'm worried about it getting out of hand over Christmas when I'm busy working and revising. Neglecting my blog isn't something I want to do so to avoid getting overwhelmed with it all I'm going to try something new.

The first post of the week will be my 'the best of' post and that will be on a Tuesday. On a Thursday starting next week I'm going to add a post called 'celeb chat'. I'm a huge mag addict and love reading the likes of Heat, Look, OK!, Company etc. I'm a bit of a magazine junkie and a sucker for a bit of celeb gossip. If I'm not out buying the magazine, I'm online reading it. Which got me thinking, seeing as I'm a little obsessed with the whole celeb thing, why don't I start my own 'celeb chat' series.

These posts will consist of me discussing the latest celeb gossip so l'll pick the things I've found most interesting and discuss what I think. I guess it'll be kind of an opinion piece and hopefully strike up a bit of conversation in the comment department. I'm not entirely sure what I'll be discussing until I know who I've chosen each week, but hopefully it will vary between style, relationships, beauty and life choices (deep, I know). Depending on how creative my flow of ideas are I'll either do this weekly or every other week on a Thursday.

Of course I want to keep a bit of fluidity and freedom within my blog so I'm leaving Sunday as a free day. I'm going to try and post something beauty or lifestyle related on a Sunday whether it's a beauty/skincare review or a little natter about something I did over the weekend. If I feel I have lots of ideas then of course I'll post inbetween my set days but for now, I'm going to give this a go and see how it pans out.

Hopefully my organisation will pay off and won't be a recipe for disaster. Time will tell. What do you think of the whole schedule and regular content idea? Have you ever stuck to a blog schedule?
