What I Bought...

Sunday, 18 August 2013

Last Sunday I acidentally went shopping, acidentally fell into the shops and accidentally bought all of this. Oops. Okay, so maybe it wasn't an accident, but I didn't go shopping with the intention of buying so much. We never intend to spend money on beauty products and clothes, do we bloggers? I can see you all shaking your heads in agreement. First stop was Primark where I got some great essentials. First up are my new jammies. I love buying nightwear because I think there's such a great selection in all the shops. Primark is normally my go-to shop as there's so much choice for such a small price tag. I opted for these cute Mickey Mouse shorts and vest top which came to a total of £8. They're very girly and very comfy, perfect for chilling in the evenings with a cuppa and the soaps. Can you believe I'm 19? I also got this basic graphic vest for a mere £3.00. It's great to throw on with a pair of jeans and I can also see myself wearing it to the gym when I'm back at uni. Primark is great if you want to stock up on jewellery as there's always so much choice. I like a good statement necklace so I bought a £3 chunky silver tribal style necklace and a £4 pretty gold one. It's a kind of worn out gold which is nice as I think some of the bright gold jewellery from Primark can look a bit tacky. I also picked up this big make-up/travel bag which I really like. It's such a cute pattern and is ideal for all of my make-up I wear regularly. My make-up is ever growing and I tend to mix and match products on a daily basis. This travel bag is big enough for it all to fit in so it's all in one place of a morning.

I blogged about the LO'real Micellar Solution last week, so imagine my excitement when I went into Superdrug to find that the Eye Make-Up Remover, Cleansing Milk and Toner were all on offer for £1.99. I really love the Micellar Solution so I instantly grabbed these three products and popped them in my basket. I've used them a few times already and they're a dream. I feel like I've got such a nice little LO'real skincare regime going on and I'm really impressed with this affordable range. I'm a sucker for a bargain, so whenever I see bright coloured labels informing me that products are half price, I'm drawn to them. I'm really trying to keep my hair in great condition, so I picked up some of this Pantene Pro-V Split End Serum. You're meant to apply it on to dry hair and let it work its magic. Once I feel it's been thoroughly tested on my hair, I'll blog about my thoughts and whether it's worth a purchase or not. The next thing I purchased was another Kate Moss Rimmel lipstick, this time in the shade 16. I think the Kate Moss range are some of the best affordable lipsticks in the drugstores and it's definitely my go-to brand. They were £1.50 off so I just couldn't resist. I went for 16 as it's a gorgeous dusky pink shade with a hint of vibrancy. It's the perfect day time colour when you want to steer away from nude and add a bit of colour to your lips. It isn't highly pigmented, but I like that because I'm not a fan of super bright lips in the day. The last thing I bought was this Real Techniques Blush Brush from Boots. I've bought a few new powder based products recently so I wanted a high quality brush to make application easier. Real Techniques brushes are brilliant and I'm gradually building my collection.

So I may have been a little bit naughty and treated myself to all of this, but I've been working very hard lately so decided to have a little splurge. I did of course make sure I could afford it before I purchased so I was infact being responsible with my money which is always good, especially when there's still two weeks to go until payday. Believe it or not, I managed to bag all of this for £44 which I think is incredibly reasonable considering how pricey some things can be. It just goes to show, if you shop, shop, shop, you can definitely pick up some bargains.
