First Year Fun

Thursday, 13 June 2013

Yesterday I sat my final exam which means first year is officially over. I'm incredibly happy to be spending a long summer at home, but I'm still really sad about leaving Nottingham and not seeing my friends for three months. University is one of the most daunting stepping stones and I'm so lucky that I love my course and have met some of the loveliest people I could have ever hoped to have met. All cliches aside, I've honestly become friends with some people who I know I'll be friends with forever. I have so many memories already and I can't wait to see what second year has in store. I've made a vow to myself to do something new each year, so in second year I'm going to join a society and see what adventure that takes me on. For anyone dubious as to whether university is for them, I urge you to take a leap of faith and go for it. The experiences you go through and the people you meet are worth it alone, not to mention the degree you'll get at the end of it. Don't rush into making choices, go with your instincts and do some research before you make any course or accommodation commitments. But most of all, enjoy every second because you only get to be a fresher once. Your three years will come and go without you even realising and before you'll know it you'll be a graduate with a job to get. I'll leave you with a few snaps to sum up just a fraction of my first of three years at Nottingham Trent as a print journalism student.
