Bourjois Cream Blush 02

Saturday, 1 June 2013

These little pots of wonder have taken the blogosphere by storm, and it's no wonder why. At first, I wasn't too keen on cream blushes as I rarely even wear blusher - I'm more of a bronzer girl. However, I couldn't resist seeing what all the fuss was about, so with a 3 for 2 offer in hand I took the plunge and invested. I found it really difficult to pick which shade I wanted so spent a good 15 minutes in Superdrug swatching them all on my hand. There was a lady awkwardly standing in my way testing this that and the other so that made it a even more difficult to make a firm decision. In the end I decided to go for shade 02 which is a rich coral colour. Immediately after leaving the store and looking at the swatches on my hand in broad daylight, I regretted my choice. I much preferred 03 which is a really pretty dusky pink, but nonetheless decided to give my little purchase a go. I really wasn't expecting much and thought it would be one of those products I bought on a whim, but remained tucked away in my make-up bag. Who knew the outcome would completely change my opinion of cream blushes? The cream to powder formula really is a dream as the creamy texture allows you to blend the colour in really nicely. I start by rubbing a small amount on my finger and then gently take it across my cheekbone. I then use my Real Techniques contour brush to blend it in so it looks even and natural. I actually overlay it on top of my bronzer as it adds a really subtle pinch of colour to my already bronzed cheeks which I like. The great thing about the coral is that it's perfect for summer and I'm actually really happy with my choice of shade. The worry I have with blushers is that they may look china doll-ish and give big circular rosy cheeks, but the cream formula banishes this from happening. Another thing that I love about this cream blush is the magnetic lid and mirror inside. It means no faffing about and it's ideal if you want to top up your cheeks on the go. Although the pot is really small I think it'll last a hell of a long time, so I really don't think £7.99 is bad at all. I'm still lusting after 03 so that will most definitely be one of my next purchases. Have you tried this cream blush yet?
