Real Techniques Core Collection Kit

Friday, 12 April 2013

Today a package arrived in the post and it was the Real Techniques Core Collection Kit by Samantha Chapman that I ordered earlier in the week. I'm trying to build my collection of make-up and decided that I needed to invest in some decent make-up brushes too. A lot of beauty bloggers believe that you can have the best make-up in the world, but unless applied correctly with the correct brushes and technique, it's pointless. Real Techniques seemed to be a favourite among some of the blogs I follow and one of my friends uses them too. She told me about a core collection kit which provides the four basic brushes you need, so I started to have a little browse online. I was willing to pay £21.99 from Boots as it works out at around £5.50 per brush, which infact is pretty decent. I decided to do a general search of the brushes on Google and stumbled across the same core collection kit on Amazon for £14.66 reduced from £20.99 - bargain! Once I'd taken them out of their packaging this afternoon I went back onto Amazon to have a look at the starter kit which is made up of eye brushes, only to discover that the core collection kit had gone down to £13.99. Even though it's only 67p cheaper, if you want these make-up brushes ladies then jump onto Amazon now and order yourself some, you can find them here.

At a first look I'm really impressed with these brushes. I have a thing about packaging and the way a product looks, so I was glad they they looked professional in the box. The brushes are really soft and are made up of a lovely black and bronze handle combination with the brand written on in orange. They also come in a little black case which is a 2-in-1 case and stand, which will be pretty handy when I go away for the weekend and want to take them with me. There's a guide on the back of the box which gives you a brief description of what each brush does and how to use it. There's also a tutorial on the website so I'm definitely going to pop on there and make some mental notes. I'll obviously give a full review of these brushes once I've used them for a couple of weeks but I thought I'd share my bargain find. I'm definitely going to invest in the starter set which consists of purple eye brushes and might even treat myself to the pink stippling brush as well. I think it's pretty cool that each set of brushes serve a different purpose and are therefore a different colour. I like the fact that they'll be distinctive if all piled into my make-up bag, or if I keep them in the case which I probably will, they won't get mixed up or lost.

Do you use Real Techniques make-up brushes?
