Spring Trends 2013

Only the likes of Kate Moss and Abbey Clancy can realistically get away with wearing something of an ugly oversized dress and still manage to look hot. Us average Joe’s however need to put in a little more effort in an attempt to try and pull off the key trends this spring. This might be hard with all the eye blinding neon’s and monochrome prints that give us a headache after three minutes of looking at them, but worn the right way and paired with the correct accessories, you’re bound to look hot to trot.

One of the main key trends this season is monochrome – it’s everywhere. The minute you click onto the Topshop website you’re bombarded with black and whites. ‘How are these spring colours?’ you might ask, but with sunny days spent in pub gardens not quite within our reach just yet, you don’t have to instantly dart towards bright colours. Black and whites are flattering and bold prints work well with all body shapes. When you venture into the stripe hype, go for vertical stripes as horizontal stripes can draw attention to your stomach if that’s your problem area.

Now, if you have that inner dare devil waiting to escape then you’ll love the neon look. Striking colours are perfect as long as you don’t overload them altogether. Rihanna might be able to rock the rainbow but us ladies have to be a little more tactful. There are some gorgeous neon orange skirts about which look great teamed with a plain crop top. If you do want to take it a step further then try a bright yellow day dress or add a bold bag to a neutral outfit to make a statement.

Whites and delicates are always a safe bet when dressing for the spring. Whites can be brightened up with a statement necklace, or if you’re more of a plain Jane, can be kept simple and girly. Chiffon is a good choice as it shows a bit of skin but also leaves a lot to the imagination. Remember girls - a classy look is always a good look.

If you fancy renewing your wardrobe for spring then browse online and choose items that you’ll feel comfortable wearing. If you can’t afford the Topshop price tags then check out the cheaper online outlets like Missguided and Boohoo. You’re only a click away from the perfect purchase.
