Chocolate mug cake brought to my attention by my boyfriend. 'Hmm what is this?' you may be thinking, well take it as literally as you read it. It is chocolate cake - in a mug. You can't get any more home comfort food than that! Usually, baking a cake is a lengthy process which requires patience and skill, but the secret element I refrained from revealing to you is that this mug cake, is a 1 minute mug cake. Yes, ONE.

As long as you have general ingredients knocking about in your cupboards then you shouldn't have to go out of your way to make this. Don't worry if you're not a Mary Berry in the kitchen because this recipe is practically idiot-proof so grab yourself a mug and let's get cracking.

Put 2 heaped tablespoons of flour, 3 tablespoons of sugar, 2 heaped teaspoons of cocoa powder (or hot chocolate powder), a quarter of a teaspoon of baking powder and a pinch of salt into your mug and mix all of the dry ingredients until they look well blended. Hard? Didn't think so.

Next, pour 2 teaspoons of cooking oil and 4 tablespoons of milk into the dry mix and mix it all together until it becomes completely smooth and lump free. If you prefer a gooey centre then put the mix in the microwave for 45 seconds but if you do want a proper cake then leave it in for a full minute.

Enter tasty mug cake. It works with ice cream, whipped cream or just a giant glass of milk. I felt a little selfish keeping this goldmine to myself so I felt obliged to share. Enjoy!
